What a woman! Anna was the manager of the hotel we stayed at in Selçuk. She lives five months in Turkey and the rest of the year in Israel, where she is from. It is a German association that warns and helps women that were cheated by middle eastern men. There is a lot of that around here. Anna gets super upset telling the stories "how can they be so naive?". The targets are either the very young or the middle age women that need someone to boost their morale. Usually Germans. Anna explains that this is a "family business," the guy meets them, falls in love at first sight, brings them to their family who adores them from the get go. One way or the other this ends up in marriage and three years after he obtains the EU passport. That's when he leaves her to marry that distant cousin who he was destined to get married to in the first place. The story ends up with his whole new family emigrating to the EU. Anna was a huge help to us not only to suggest things to do and see but also to explain the Turkish culture and give us different points of view of the Turk and their land.
